We've had a wonderful friendly, scenic, and mellow visit to B.C. waters. We love it here! Goodbye is just temporary until we can return again. At 10 a.m. we cross the border and receive our clearance to reenter the U.S. on our NEXUS pass. Now we are pointed south, with islands of the San Juans on our horizon. Patos is the first island we come to as we cruise by the historic lighthouse.
And then we are following along the shore of Sucia. We turn into Ewing Cove for a little sightseeing tour. As usual, the buoys are occupied and people are enjoying this scenic spot with its many sandstone sculpted islets. We have a lot of great memories from this cove, a favorite of ours!
The cruise continues to take us past islands and islets, and we get some glimpses of Mt. Baker, too.
It's cool, only in the mid 50's as we cruise this morning, but the day warms once we are inside Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes and out of the wind. We take a nice walk along the beach below Cap Sante. The beach is just below the paved walkway for Rotary Park and is accessible at low tide.
We dine on pasta salad in the cockpit as we watch boats coming and going in the fairway next to us. And it seems that wherever we look in the marina we see Ranger Tugs, they are everywhere! It's no longer a rarity to spot one.
