This page offers brief underwater video glimpses of bays and inlets in the Salish Sea visited by North Star (along with a few from our earlier vessel, Hoku Kai). All were taken with a GoPro or similar camera, mounted on a weighted tripod and lowered from the stern of the boat to depths of 10 to 60 ft (3 to 18 meters). Usually there was no way to accurately place the camera, sometimes it was in a dense patch of seaweed or resting at an angle. However, when fish and invertebrates were present, the camera offered a good undisturbed view of their activities. Each video clip is 10 secs to about a minute in length.
