We settle into C dock at Cap Sante, next to an American Tug. Lunch is fish and chips in Anthony's Cabana, followed by a visit to Main Street. We didn't realize that this is the weekend of the annual Oyster Run in Anacortes, when bikers converge on the town in hordes. It is noisy, and crazy, and fun! Emphasis is on noisy!
How do you make your ride stand out from the others? Try some color, add chrome details from Denmark, upholster the seat with the entire length of skin, head to tail, of an alligator! Check out "Boss Hoss" and video below.
Details, details, details . . .
We came to Anacortes to get some chores done. We have laundry to do, NORTH STAR needs a good bath and cleaning, and shore showers feel great after a few nights out. We need to shop for a few items, too. Back in the marina, we find "Carlyn" on the dock. She was one of the sailboats we passed in the Guemes Channel today, and has pulled into the dock with a group of Girl Scouts aboard, ending a weekend of sailing adventures. It's so beautiful in the marina this afternoon, absolutely calm.
We are ready for a dinner out and walk back to Main Street. Like magic, the bikers have all gone home, and the streets are quiet and empty. We enjoy a wonderful meal at Pear Thai.
