Thinking of granddaughter Skye today, celebrating her 10th birthday! How time flies . . .
We have clouds this morning along with a few sprinkles. We go ashore for one last view of the spit at low tide.
We are off under partly sunny skies. All of the buoys remain empty, and just "Viva la Vida" remains at the dock, also preparing to leave. We get a look at the tip of the spit from the water.
We pass small islands and islets and make our way across Haro Strait to San Juan Island and Friday Harbor and we are back in the U.S.A. once again.
The great part about September cruising is that even in a busy place like Friday Harbor, there are plenty of empty slips available. After pulling into our slip, we walk the docks, head into town for fresh produce, and polish the eyebrows and trim on NORTH STAR. We note that there are many Ranger Tugs on the docks here! We enjoy the colorful banners that fly at the end of each dock. Each dock has its own color as well as a letter designation for identification.
Happy hour is in the sunshine of the cockpit, followed by a bowl of homemade chile. The red skies of sunset are a treat to end our day.
