We near Dodd Narrows with perfect timing. A tug and barge are ahead of us, otherwise we have an easy passage with no other boats in the narrow passageway.
Nanaimo is ahead, with dragon boats having a race in front of the city skyline.
After a stop at the Gas n Go for diesel, we continue out toward the Strait of Georgia. Surprise! A paddler in an outrigger joins us, riding our wake as we leave, staying with us until we have cleared Newcastle Island. He even signals to Dan to increase the speed and make more of a wake for him! Pretty fantastic! See the video too!
We cruise into the rolling seas of the Strait of Georgia, the skies now gray, we have mist and drizzle, and it is sloppy. The S.E. winds have arrived. At times it is just gnarly, making for a long day. We're pretty tired when we tie up on the familiar docks of Comox.
Laundry gets done, and we enjoy a quiet evening after dinner aboard.

Comox layover morning
Calm. gray morning, warm
Shore showers, a walk up to the main street of Comox for morning coffee and muffins, and shopping in the local well stocked store gets our day off to a good start.

As we return to NORTH STAR, a group of local kids are getting Hobie sailing lessons, so cute to watch.
Water is topped off and we are ready to cruise again.
